The Mitsubishi crossover SUV Eclipse Cross offers dynamic performance and enjoys an overall enhanced exterior design, extended body length, upgraded sleek and elegant interior, advanced technology, and intelligent safety features.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and full line up of Mitsubishi models are presented at the showrooms of Qatar Automobiles Company, the authorized distributor of Mitsubishi in Qatar, on Salwa Road and in Al Khor.

The Exterior

Developed under the design concept “Daring Grace”, the restyled front and rear design coupled with the extended body length create a more unified, sophisticated, sleek and sporty look of an SUV.

The front design of the Eclipse Cross adopted Mitsubishi Motors’ elegant and sporty Dynamic Shield to express the powerful performance of an SUV. To complete the sharp-looking design, the refreshed lighting layout consists of dauntless front combination lights with daytime running lights and turn signals that emphasize a broader look. The pentagonal headlights (available in halogen and LED types) and fog lights are combined into two characteristic cylinders.

The elegant yet sporty form continues to the rear. The double rear windows are merged into a single one for sleeker styling and clearer visibility.

The Eclipse Cross’s iconic three-dimensional combination taillights, which house signature lights, taillights, spotlights, turn signals and backup lights, are also placed higher for a distinctive rear look that is easy to spot. The sculpted hexagon design expresses the robust stance of an SUV.

The vehicle’s profile is further enhanced with an optional ten-spoke two-tone 18” alloy wheels.

The Eclipse Cross has a 2,670 mm wheelbase, an overall length of 4,545 mm (140mm longer than model-year 20), a width of 1,805 mm, and a height of 1,685 mm (2WD)/1,690 mm (High line).

The interior

The interior of the Eclipse Cross is as sophisticated and stylish as its exterior. The seats enjoy a light grey colour option in addition to the existing black one. The upgraded seat materials include a black fabric pattern, grey fabric, synthetic leather (combination of suede and artificial leather) and genuine light grey leather.

Passengers can enjoy a more comfortable ride, thanks to several upgrades in the rear seat's elements. The shape of the headrests is modified and larger, and the seats are 9-step adjustable to match the angle preference and offer improved body positioning for rear occupants.

The cargo area is more spacious and versatile. Large enough to fit four golf bags easily, even with five occupants inside. The rear seats can go flat with a 60:40 split foldable seatback to transport more items.

The Eclipse Cross comes with an improved infotainment system that helps drivers operate safely on the road. The 8-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) is now mounted and positioned closer to the driver for improved touchscreen operability and visibility. The SDA is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and allows intuitive operation of music, calls, maps, messages and more. 2 USB ports are fitted below the AC control to make it more accessible and convenient for both the driver and front passenger. A full-colour Head-Up Display (HUD) presents dashboard information, alerts and navigation signals that help drivers acquire information safely and quickly.

Specially designed for the Eclipse Cross, the Mitsubishi Power Sound System (MPSS) features eight premium speakers acoustically tuned and positioned precisely for the vehicle's shape to deliver clear and smooth sound quality.

Performance

Available in 2WD option, the Eclipse Cross comes with two types of engine capacities; a 1.5L DOHC MIVEC turbocharged engine and a 2.0L DOHC MIVEC engine. MIVEC, which stands for Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control system, facilitates a more dynamic driving performance.

Boosted road performance is further strengthened by Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC). S-AWC offers integrated control of Active Stability Control (ASC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and Active Yaw Control (AYC) to regulate braking force and torque. The control combined of these systems with fine-tuned rear suspension produces highly stable vehicle behaviour that is true to the driver’s intent.

Drivers can select different driving modes according to road and driving conditions. The Normal Mode provides the appropriate steering and stability for a broad range of driving scenarios, Snow Mode maintains stable vehicle movement on slippery surfaces, and Gravel Mode generates superior road handling and stability on poor surfaces.

Intelligent and Advanced Safety

For the drivers’ peace of mind, the Eclipse Cross enjoys intelligent and advanced safety features including Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Multi Around Monitor, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), and parking monitor and sensors. The other active safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Active Stability Control (ASC) with Traction Control (TCL), and Hill Start Assist (HSA).

Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne is set to make its highly anticipated return to the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2026, participating for the second consecutive year. From 14th to 24th January, the iconic Swiss resort will showcase the rich flavors and timeless traditions of Swiss gastronomy at the vibrant 974 Stadium Precinct in Doha, offering festival‑goers tastes of Switzerland in the heart of Qatar.

This year, Bürgenstock Resort’s presence at (QIFF) will spotlight traditional Swiss cuisine with a modern twist, curated especially for GCC audiences who value authenticity, craftsmanship and provenance. Indeed, the resort’s culinary philosophy is built on a hyperlocal sourcing approach. Its signature Bürgenstock cheeses are produced by Käserei Boden, a family-run dairy that has supplied the resort since 1906 and produces the renowned 5-Star Mountain Cheese bearing the resort’s name.  In addition, the resort maintains its own beehives on the Bürgenberg, producing house-made honey that further reflects its commitment to true hyperlocal sourcing. Through its participation in QIFF, Bürgenstock Resort reinforces its growing connection with the GCC market, offering a culinary expression of the resort’s broader promise: discreet luxury, cultural authenticity and meaningful experiences rooted in place.

The Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2026, organised by Visit Qatar, the marketing and promotional arm of Qatar Tourism, the governing and regulatory body of tourism in the State of Qatar, returns this week as one of the country’s flagship cultural events, serving as a platform for culinary innovation and cultural exchange through food. This year’s edition marks the first major event of the Qatar Canada and Mexico 2026 Year of Culture, showcasing how gastronomy celebrates shared traditions, techniques, and stories.

QIFF 2026 will host award-winning chefs from Canada and Mexico whose work reflects deep cultural roots, contemporary craftsmanship, and a commitment to community-centred food traditions.

From Mexico, Chef Esdras Ochoa, known as the Taco King, will feature in the Opening Ceremony, the Cooking Studio, and the QIFF Ring, alongside Chef Lupita Vidal, who will take part in both the Cooking Studio and the QIFF Ring. Canada’s participation will be led by Chef Christian Gosselin (Sous Executive Chef, Rosewood), who will represent Canada in the Opening Ceremony and the QIFF Ring, with Chef Eric Chong and Chef Andy Hay appearing in the Cooking Studio.

His Excellency Mohammed Al Kuwari, Years of Culture Advisor on Latin America and Qatar’s former Ambassador to Mexico, spoke ahead of the festival: “I have always had a deep personal love for Mexican food, its flavours and the stories, memories, and emotions embedded in it. When people share a meal together, barriers disappear very quickly. Food creates connection faster than words, and it reminds us how much we have in common. At QIFF, seeing chefs from Mexico and Canada cook side-by-side with our culinary community in Qatar is a powerful reminder that culture lives at the table, in conversation, and in the friendships that begin over food.”

Chef Lupita Vidal, an acclaimed ambassador of cuisine from the Tabasco region and one of Mexico’s most celebrated research-driven chefs, will represent Mexico’s culinary heritage. Through her philosophy of agua y humo (water and smoke), Vidal preserves ancestral cooking techniques and elevates the voices of traditional producers and communities. Her participation at QIFF offers audiences rare insight into the diversity of Mexican gastronomy.

Also participating is Chef Esdras Ochoa, internationally recognised as a pioneer of contemporary Mexican street food and taco culture. From founding influential taquerias in Los Angeles to leading global culinary collaborations, Ochoa brings a spirit of authenticity, creativity, and cultural storytelling that reflects the movement of people, traditions, and flavours across borders.

Among the featured Canadian participants is Chef Christian Gosselin, a distinguished chef with more than two decades of international culinary experience across North America and the Middle East. As Executive Sous Chef at Rosewood Doha, Gosselin is known for his respect for ingredient-driven cuisine and his interest in sustainability and local sourcing, values that resonate strongly with Qatar’s evolving food culture.

Another Canadian participant is Chef Andy Hay, best known for turning East Coast comfort food into fun, approachable recipes with a big personality. A self-taught cook from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, he first gained national attention on MasterChef Canada after leaving a career in tech.

From Canada’s innovative culinary scene, Chef Eric Chong, one of the country’s most exciting young chefs and a Michelin-recognised restaurateur, will showcase a cuisine shaped by heritage, experimentation, and multicultural identity. His work reflects how modern Canadian gastronomy continues to evolve through dialogue between cultures, techniques, and personal history.

Together, these chefs embody the spirit of cultural exchange at the heart of the Years of Culture programme. QIFF continues to reinforce Qatar’s commitment to cultural diplomacy, hospitality, and global collaboration, positioning gastronomy as a meaningful expression of cultural identity.

Launched in 2012, Years of Culture builds long-term relationships between Qatar and partner nations through a series of cultural, educational, business and creative exchanges. The initiative reflects Qatar’s belief that cultural collaboration supports dialogue, strengthens international ties, and promotes understanding across borders.
