Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne is set to make its highly anticipated return to the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2026, participating for the second consecutive year. From 14th to 24th January, the iconic Swiss resort will showcase the rich flavors and timeless traditions of Swiss gastronomy at the vibrant 974 Stadium Precinct in Doha, offering festival‑goers tastes of Switzerland in the heart of Qatar.

This year, Bürgenstock Resort’s presence at (QIFF) will spotlight traditional Swiss cuisine with a modern twist, curated especially for GCC audiences who value authenticity, craftsmanship and provenance. The experience will be led by Mike Wehrle, Corporate Culinary Director of the property since 2017 who is overseeing its 12 restaurants, lounges and bars. He will present a dishes inspired by the resort’s alpine surroundings and deep-rooted relationships with local producers. Festival highlights will include fluffy Swiss raclette served with crispy potatoes, marinated onions and alpine blossoms, as well as a handcrafted Swiss chocolate bars molded exclusively in a Bürgenstock Resort design.

Indeed, the resort’s culinary philosophy is built on a hyperlocal sourcing approach. It works closely with farmers and artisans based on and around the Bürgenberg mountain, sourcing cheese from cows grazing just 500 metres from the resort, berries from nearby greenhouses, herbs from the Waldhotel by Bürgenstock’s own garden, and fresh fish from Swiss lakes.

Its signature Bürgenstock cheeses are produced by Käserei Boden, a family-run dairy that has supplied the resort since 1906 and produces the renowned 5-Star Mountain Cheese bearing the resort’s name.  In addition, the resort maintains its own beehives on the Bürgenberg, producing house-made honey that further reflects its commitment to true hyperlocal sourcing. Through its participation in QIFF, Bürgenstock Resort reinforces its growing connection with the GCC market, offering a culinary expression of the resort’s broader promise: discreet luxury, cultural authenticity and meaningful experiences rooted in place.
