True to the spirit of Galeries Lafayette, and incorporating the element of art in a retail ambience, Galeries Lafayette Doha is hosting an art exhibition for local visual artist Shouq Al Mana.
The exhibition on the ground floor of Galeries Lafayette Doha. It focus on painting in the first month and on drawing in the second. Al Mana’s exhibition is the first of the many art and cultural events that will be held at Galeries Lafayette Doha, all year round.

The French iconic department store has always made it a priority to promote local talent, be it in fashion or in art, and Qatari artist Al Mana was an organic choice for the first collaboration for an art exhibition at Galeries Lafayette Doha.
This exhibition of the Qatari artist acknowledges and celebrates the powerful men and women of Qatar along with the different roles they take over in their daily lives. Inspired by the feeling of national pride and unity that the blockade on Qatar triggered, the artist depicted the patriotic emotions artistically. The collection also contains hints of the artist’s attachment to poetry and culture.

Speaking about her art, Al Mana said: “It is a great opportunity for me to be able to showcase my art inside Galeries Lafayette. It allows me to reach out to more people and express my art. My work aims to be personal and accessible for viewers, allowing them to create their own interpretations.
"My interest in transforming ordinary forms and abstracting them has challenged me to explore different art practices, creating an exciting perspective on our culture, while keeping certain traditional aspects alive. As a young artist, I am interested in connecting with everyday lifestyles, symbols and stories and, through abstraction, I hope to create a new and exciting vision for contemporary society."
