AUDEMARS PIGUET INVITES MUSIC LOVERS TO LIVE A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE AT THE MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL

Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet is happy to participate in the 56th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival from 1 to 16 July 2022. As Global Partner of the Festival since 2019, the brand is delighted to join the party, notably at the Lake House, a new space at the heart of the festival that blends immersive and educational experiences, concerts and DJ sets. In addition, Audemars Piguet and the Montreux Jazz Festival are concurrently launching Parallel, a new series of intimate concerts timed to the festival which will take place in unexpected venues within the Montreux Riviera region. These exclusive experiences will kick off this year with two live performances on July 12 and 15, accessible to the happy few who will have won their tickets online or at the Lake House. This year’s novelties reinforce the two partners’ shared commitment to nurturing talent and to offering exclusive experiences to all music lovers.

THE LAKE HOUSE

The 56th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival brims with novelties. Among them, the Lake House, situated at the heart of the festival. This welcoming space, spread between three floors, hosts concerts, an archive room, a vinyl library and a bar located under the elegant dome of the third floor.

Visitors will find Audemars Piguet’s immersive space on the patio situated on the ground floor, where they are invited to dive into the Manufacture’s universe through educational games and experiences shedding a light on the APxMusic projects organised by the brand since 2019.

PARALLEL EXPERIENCES

For this 2022 edition, Audemars Piguet and the Montreux Jazz Festival have created Parallel, a new series of exclusive music experiences. Conceived as a parenthesis in the effervescence of the festival – a moment out of time – these one-of-a-kind events enable selected music artists to perform in off-beat and intimate concert set-ups in unexpected venues within the Montreux Riviera region.

This series of exclusive concerts speaks of Audemars Piguet’s and the Montreux Jazz Festival’s shared commitment to upholding talents by giving music artists unique opportunities to push their own limits and share their passion with the world.

Two live performances by The Blaze and Arlo Parks will respectively take place on July 12 and 15 in a unique venue that will be kept secret until the last minute. A very limited number of tickets can be won online on the festival’s website and Instagram page. An additional happy few will also be able to win their tickets on the Patio Audemars Piguet during the festival.

AP & MUSIC: A LONG-STANDING RELATION

Over the years, Audemars Piguet has fostered creative synergies between Haute Horlogerie and the world of music through collaborations with experts in the field. One of its main collaborations started in 2006, when the Manufacture embarked on an 8-year research programme with EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and a host of experts, including musicians, to recover the acoustic tonality of 19th-century watches.

The Manufacture has also nurtured long-standing friendships with music artists, including Jay-Z and Quincy Jones, who share the Manufacture’s values such as technical mastery, precision and a taste for innovation.

Furthering its engagement in the world of music, Audemars Piguet started its enduring contribution to the Montreux Jazz Digital Project in 2010, together with the Claude Nobs Foundation and EPFL innovation and research competences. This massive project has enabled the digitisation, preservation and enrichment of the festival’s entire audio-visual archives, acknowledged by UNESCO as part of its “Memory of the World.” Going one step further, Audemars Piguet became Global Partner of the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2019.

The same year, Audemars Piguet debuted its music programme with the mission to support rising talents by fostering creative encounters between artists of different horizons. In 2020, the brand launched 180, a 5-episode miniseries retracing the creative process of five groups of artists invited to create and record an original collaborative soundtrack. Following up on these challenges, the brand invited Montreal-based group THe LYONZ to perform in a unique mountainous setting overlooking Montreux, timed to the Montreux Jazz Festival’s 2021 edition. The new Parallel concert series follows in the footsteps of this initiative and promises many surprises and emotions to come!

“With the Montreux Jazz Festival, Audemars Piguet continues to get off the beaten track to make the audience sway to the rhythm of talented artists eager to share their passion. And this is just the beginning!”
