Salvatore Silvestrino Brings Passion for Slow Cooking & Celebrity Acknowledged Creativity to Qatar

City Centre Rotana Doha, one of the leading contemporary 5-star hotels in the heart of the city, has appointed award-winning chef Salvatore Silvestrino as its new Executive Chef. Italian-born Salvatore is renowned for his passion to bring people together over delicious dishes of diverse, thoughtfully prepared food.

With over 30 years of experience in the culinary world, Chef Silvestrino brings his extensive expertise to City Centre Rotana Doha’s culinary portfolio. He is overseeing the entire operations of the hotels’ six popular F&B outlets, in addition to its In-Room Dining offering.

Salvatore was born and brought up in Naples, the culinary capital of Italy. He has worked in the kitchens in Asia and Europe, before settling in Australia and now putting his roots down in Qatar. In his long culinary career, he has cooked for state banquets, Olympic delegations and even Ferrari team, counting Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa amongst his celebrity guests.

Chef Silvestrino has adopted the best of classic European and Australian fusion food into his creative culinary palette which is now informing the menus at City Centre Rotana and will be in evidence at the soon-to-launch Marco Polo Brunch on January 29 at the hotel’s signature Teatro restaurant.

“I will be looking to impress and to inspire guests to return time and time again,” commented the father of three and a believer in the slow-food concept. “I firmly believe that good things, including good food, take time. I learnt from an early age that one must make time to prepare, cook and enjoy food while indulging in conversations in its purest and simplest form. And my daughters have grown up learning the same”.

The hotel’s General Manager, Martin Kendall said City Centre Rotana will benefit from the Executive Chef’s enthusiasm and versatility. “Chef Silvestrino is highly respected in the industry and we are excited to see the changes he is bringing into our operations and dining tables. His passion and skills have won acclaim from statesmen and celebrities in many 5-star hotels throughout Australia, Europe and Asia.
