Dusit Doha Poolside Lit Up for Moving Loy Krathong Festival VIPs, Media & Corporate Clients Trans

The rooftop poolside of the Dusit Doha Hotel shone brightly this week as VIPs, media representatives and key corporate clients gathered to celebrate the annual Thai celebration, the Loy Krathong Festival.

The hotel’s General Manager Gerhard Stutz welcomed his guests to the private celebration, which was attended by Thailand’s Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Mr Nathapol Khantahiran.

The beauty of the Loy Krathong festival is when small boats traditionally crafted from banana tree trunk, decorated with banana leaves and carrying small lit candles, are sailed on rivers and canals.

“As a brand with a distinct Thai heritage, service philosophy and culinary expertise, Dusit Doha Hotel wanted to mark the Loy Krathong occasion,” explained Mr Stutz. “Our guests were thrilled to launch the lovely lit boats in our rooftop pool which sent a glow through the Doha night sky.

“Thai tradition has it that the celebration represents revitalisation of life for those launching the ‘boats’ so we wish all our guests the happiest of new starts.”

With performances by a Thai dancing troupe and music provided by a talented player of the Thai traditional string instrument, the khim, the Dusit Doha’s poolside guests were temporarily transported to the Land of Smiles.
