The Gulf Institute of Gemology (GIG) launches the e-academy platform this year with a series of exciting industry webinars available for all. GIG will also be offering webinars in Arabic language making it the first and only establishment of its kind to make such an offering. Webinars will cover a range of different topics from getting to know your emeralds and jades to understanding the complexity of lab instruments analysis such as Raman Spectroscopy.
Gem enthusiasts, industry members, investors and those wanting to enter the field can all sign up to learn from some of the best gemology instructors in the world. The webinars are also suitable for those who own jewellery businesses or shops who want to add skills and knowledge to their trade. Upon request, GIG is also happy to offer bespoke webinars.
Luxury Academy Director Eva Kountouraki will be heading a number of the webinars, followed by Mrs Muna Al Bulushi who will be teaching some webinars in Arabic. Eva Kountouraki’s passion for the field has driven her across the globe enriching her network and industry knowledge; the experienced gemologist has worked with the most important institutes around the world and enjoys sharing her knowledge with the world.
Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance from our e-academy, a member of the CIBJO; The World Jewellery Confederation and will be part of a Q & A session towards the end of the webinar to ask whatever questions they may have. The first webinar, titled ‘The ever- fascinating Emerald’ will be taking part on the 31st of May at 11 am, people can sign up on the GIG website or via social media channels.
