Baros is blessed with incredible natural surroundings, from the lush jungle interior of the island to its world-class house reef. Coral reefs are key in the underwater ecosystem, which is why we have decided to create an entirely new offering for guests; the Baros Eco Explorer package. This new package allows visitors to embrace their time in the Maldives in an unforgettable way — by personally contributing to some of the sustainable initiatives led by the resident Marine Biologist.
Baros Eco Explorer includes an educational Coral Workshop and interactive session with the Marine Biologist, a coral frame planting experience in the coral garden (with a personalised name tag and message) and the creation and planting of a Coral Cube in the Baros lagoon. These eco-friendly initiatives help to create a coral garden of broken but living corals that otherwise wouldn’t survive, as well as to support areas of the existing reef, ultimately helping precious marine life to thrive.
Also included is a private snorkelling and fish identification session. Led by the Marine Biologist and equipped with underwater cameras, guests will discover and better understand the underwater world of Baros, the risks it faces today, and what can be done to protect it.
Guests will leave with countless memories and a specially curated photo book documenting their trip, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
