8 March 2020 marks the International Women’s Day, and InterContinental Doha is proud to announce its month-long partnership with world-renowned brand L’Occitane en Provence.
InterContinental Doha supports women empowerment and advocates women’s right to succeed at their workplace and at home. Beginning 13 March until 31 March, InterContinental Doha, together with L’Occitane, will commemorate International Women’s Day with an exclusive in-room amenity kit specially curated for solo women travelers, with essentials including skin care products for face and body. Amidst the city’s hustle and bustle, this kit is designed for the solo woman traveler who is always on-the-goand looking for the perfect yet natural complexion.
While plenty of companies are now gradually putting emphasis on Women Empowerment, L’Occitane Foundation, which has become a solidified concept in the 2006, has a unique array of programs, activities, and partnerships that are in existence for over 35 years, such as their partnership with women from Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world.
In hospitality, women take up more than half of students in hospitality programs – which is 67%. Yet, study shows that at the same year, women hold less than 40% of all hotel managerial positions and less than 20% in general management roles. “At InterContinental Doha and IHG, we ensure unwavering support for women leaders by creating programs and workshops to hone their leadership skills and ultimately excel in managerial positions in hospitality.” Says Dorien Smit, Area Director for Sales and Marketing for IHG Northern Gulf, “By partnering with L’Occitane, we support solo women travelers in various industries, including hospitality, by providing them a luxurious stay with world-class and personalised amenities.”
