Molton Brown, British fragrance makers celebrate 20 years of the iconic Re-charge Black Pepper collection. This woody-citrus scent has a rich legacy, enduring as an award-winning favourite loved for its universal appeal.
Charismatic and sophisticated, it was created by Master Perfumer Jacques Chabert in 2002, who we’re proud to still work with and count as a friend today. Through the years, Jacques has made some of our other signature fragrances, such as Heavenly Gingerlily. His daughters, Carla and Elsa, also worked with us to create Fiery Pink Pepper and Tobacco Absolute respectively.
Re-charge Black Pepper began as a personal project for Jacques; curious about fusing woody and citrus scents, he wanted a fragrance he could wear himself. The Eau de Parfum opens with spicy notes accented by soft nuances of bergamot, enhanced with a signature note of striking myrtle pepper. Its drydown reveals voluptuous oakmoss and woody depth. The Eau de Toilette is a warm medley of black pepper, ginger and lemon. With aromatic coriander at the heart, it’s bolstered by a confident base of earthy vetiver. Ideal for adventurous types, the full collection builds an energising and robust ritual for Bath, Body and Home.
Passionate about using the finest ingredients, we cultivated our black pepper from Madagascar, one of the world’s pre-eminent spice centres. We carefully selected this variety for its warmer facets, compared to the more commonly used Indian black pepper. The essential oil has received an Ecocert COSMOS certification, which ensures the responsible use of natural resources.
As part of our dedication to stay kind to the earth, our collection is 100% vegan* and like all our products, it’s made in England and cruelty free. Our 300ml Bath & Body bottles are made from 50% recycled plastic.
