A Voyage into Luxury: Savoir + Winch Design
Savoir, makers of the world's finest beds, is pleased to announce its collaboration with Winch
Design, the globally acclaimed studio known for its bespoke design in superyachts, private
jets, and luxury residences. The result of this partnership is Tranquility, a bed that embodies
the pinnacle of British craftsmanship while evoking the elegance and romance of the golden
age of travel.
A natural evolution of their longstanding relationship, Tranquility marks the latest creative
venture between Savoir and Winch Design, who have worked together on numerous projects
for private clients. Designed by Michael Noah, Furniture Designer & Associate at Winch
Design, the bed draws inspiration from the grandeur of 1930s ocean liners. Its graceful frame
echoes the sweeping lines of yacht interiors, while a soft, natural colour palette reflects the
serene beauty of open water and sunlit decks.
"Blending heritage with innovation, the Tranquility bed offers a contemporary reimagining
of the classic sleigh bed," says Michael. Clean lines and a refined silhouette bring a modern
edge, while subtle curves enhance its timeless sophistication. Striking the perfect balance
between tradition and contemporary elegance, this bed is designed to be an oasis of calm, a
sanctuary for rest, relaxation, and dreams
Crafted by Savoir’s master artisans, the bed is upholstered in a buttery-soft leather from
Foglizzo which is complemented by a figured anegre timber trim. The leather is accentuated
by saddle-stitch detailing where the hides meet, showcasing the exquisite precision of hand
craftsmanship. Beyond its striking exterior, the bed features a bespoke Winch mattress, a
Savoir No. 4 spring base, and a hair and wool topper, all meticulously handcrafted in Savoir’s
Bedworks in Wales using only the finest materials. Completing the design is Savoir’s
signature white Trellis ticking, ensuring durability and timeless elegance.
Further enhancing the bed’s sense of serenity, integrated reading lights from Chelsom in
golden bronze and matching nightstands evoke the sophistication of classic transatlantic
voyages.
Made to order with a lead time of 12–14 weeks, Tranquility is fully customisable, from bed
size to leather and trim selections. It will be showcased at Savoir’s flagship showroom in
Mayfair from the 20th March and will also be available for purchase through any Savoir
showroom worldwide.
Prices from $68,605 for a US King. Nightstands are $21,885 each.
