The Fourth Edition of Build Your House Exhibition Reinforced its Position as Qatar’s must-attend

Build Your House (BYH) Exhibition 2023, which was held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, wrapped up its fourth edition with incredible accomplishments. This highly immersive and engaging event saw a footfall of over 14,560 visitors over the course of four days, while it’s Knowledge Sharing Conference, brought over 40 presentations from guest speakers from academic institutions, architectural associations, government entities and leading industry businesses.


Establishing itself as a platform that’s crucial for business, Build Your House Exhibition connects Qatari citizens looking to build their home, fit out an existing business or renovate their current property to an array of services and products from consultants, contractors, suppliers – including smart home and general service industry leaders. The fourth edition saw an incredible number of deals signed over the 4 days – with deals estimated at QR 800 million.


This year’s event hosted 250 exhibitors offering a wealth of services from smart

home suppliers to engineering industry leaders. Many of these exhibitors were part of the expanded international pavilion, which welcomed more Turkish companies, and exhibitors from Canada, Iran, Italy, Oman, and the UK, and companies from Sri Lanka, KSA, Belgium, China, Algeria, Jordan and India for the first time.

Regarding next year’s BYH Exhibition, Mr. Sleem, said: “We are delighted with the evolvement of Build Your House Exhibition. Building on this, we are already preparing for the launch of the fifth edition of the BYH Exhibition 2024 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).”

Visitors who attended the fourth edition of Build Your House Exhibition were engaged in the Knowledge Sharing Conference, featuring speakers on the stage from 11 am – 8pm daily. Esteemed guest speakers included representatives from government entities such as The Ministry of Municipality, who provided valuable insights on obtaining registration documentation and building permits, as well as Qatar’s Civil Defense who emphasized the importance of home safety and security. In addition, prominent academic leaders presented architecture and design principles such as custom design and the past, present, and future of Qatari housing.


Build Your House Exhibition has evolved into a thriving platform that nurtures creativity and fosters the growth of future design talent. On the event's second day, the spotlight was on the students who participated in the prestigious Best Interior Design Awards. The awards recipients were as follows: Fatima Karamashahi secured first place, Aya Akl, second runner-up, and Hissa Al-Khuzaei claimed the third-place position.


The winners were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges, which included representatives from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) MEA, the influential businesswoman and influencer Eng. Maram Zghoul, as well as NeXTfairs for Exhibitions and Conferences. The selected VCUarts students, whose exceptional talent was recognized, were given the opportunity to proudly showcase their winning entries at the VCUarts Qatar booth.


The last day of the event introduced an exciting new addition: The Best Exhibition Stand Award. This accolade celebrated exhibitors who exhibited exemplary creativity and meticulous attention to detail. Ultimately, this coveted award was presented to several companies: Nabina Group, Bottega Design, Living Spirit, Kahramaa, BSCO and Bela Casa, whose remarkable stand caught the attention of event attendees.


In light of the remarkable achievements and proven significance of Build Your House Exhibition, a fifth edition has been booked for 2024. Continuing to grow, this event promises to offer visitors a larger number of exhibitors and local and international speakers.
