From padel tennis to water sports, the luxury private island redefines the Maldivian experience once again
Adventure seekers will be able to add even more activities to their holiday with a host of new sports on land and sea available at the ultra-luxurious Velaa Private Island. A world-class Padel Tennis Court and new water sports are among the raft of leisure offerings introduced at the much-loved Maldivian paradise.
Launched in June, the fully panoramic Padel Court is available for beginners and expert players alike. With instructors’ on-hand, the court comes as demand for the sport has risen globally over recent months as one of the fastest growing sports of 2021. Padel, which is easy to play, fun and sociable has recently been recognised as a form of tennis and is loved by many, including famous sporting figures around the world.
Water sports fans can also try their hand with some new ‘toys’ available on the island. The Krash Predator Stand-up Jet Ski will have both beginners or more proficient water-ski lovers enthralled. The adrenaline-raising piece of kit is sure to get guests’ hearts racing while carving turns on the waves.
Also joining the family is the latest Sea Doo GTX Limited Edition 2021. More than a jet-ski, this smooth mover is built for hanging out on the water.
