Chicago Rare's concept is a loving tribute to the daring individuals who defied Prohibition regulations, crafting an underground culture of revelry and creativity. The venue celebrates the remarkable transformation of Chicago’s social scene during the ‘20s, where secret speakeasies became the vibrant hubs of social interaction and artistic expression. It was a time of hidden allure, where jazz music filled the air, and clandestine gatherings fostered a sense of camaraderie among those who embraced the rebellious spirit of the times.

The restaurant’s design has been thoughtfully crafted to incorporate elements of a traditional speakeasy, such as dim lighting, reimagining the essence of the Prohibition era in a modern setting. Luxurious leather seating, rich wood tones, and brass accents add to the elegance and historical appeal, making every visit a journey to the past.

The designer of this quaint locale is AvroKO, an award-winning firm known for its expertise in creating unique spaces around the world. After thorough planning, the final result is a modern yet nostalgic setting where traditional high stools, artworks, and armchairs create a grand indoor setting. The steakhouse also has an outdoor terrace, Breeze Bay Terrace, featuring a bar and low tables surrounded by greenery to further enhance the experience.

Chicago Rare’s grand opening on April 19 promises an evening of gastronomic brilliance and historical immersion. As the launch date is nearly upon us, the restaurant warmly invites everyone to embark on a culinary and cultural voyage, where each dish tells a story of passion, tradition, and the timeless allure of the Prohibition era.
