Spring/Summer 2021 is a continuous narration of Bazza Alzouman’s classic eveningwear silhouettes. Void of embellishment and striking colours, the collection was conceptualized on the Kuwaiti eponymous label’s strongest shapes and muted colours, amplified with ethereal layers and textures.
A repertoire of 22 looks feature floor-grazing and tea-length gowns and separates inject a playful, modest layer. Monochromatic gowns are anything but one-dimensional. Balloon sleeves are attached to boned bodices while figure-hugging mermaid skirts are juxtaposed with sharp padded shoulders, effortlessly marrying each minimalist creation with surrealist accents.
About Bazza Alzouman
Kuwaiti designer Bazza Alzouman was born in Charleston, South Carolina and realised her interest in design early on, taking up sewing classes while earning a degree in Business Administration at Boston University. In 2011, she moved to New York to pursue her passion at Parsons School of Design and earned an AAS Degree in Fashion Design while working alongside Naeem Khan to develop her skills and forge her own path in eveningwear. By 2014, Alzouman moved back to Kuwait to launch her eponymous label and establish her atelier.
Bazza Alzouman aspires to bridge the gap between evening ready-to-wear and couture by adopting advanced construction techniques into the creation of each piece. Season on season, Alzouman’s understated aesthetic flees from overt opulence in favour of designing collections for a clientele who have an appreciation for ethereal, pared down silhouettes and exquisite craftsmanship that speak volumes of modern elegance through texture, shape and colour.
Bazza Alzouman champions ethical and sustainable fashion. All aspects of the brand; from the design, sampling, to production are managed from the studio in Kuwait.
