Noon By Noor launches today the Resort 2023 collection at Noonbynoor.com, revealing a fresh set of imagery by photographer Janneke van de Hagen.
Synonymous with Noon by Noor's Resort collection inspiration, the new season creative explores concepts that pay homage to the wonders of nature seen in the incredible forms and colours of flora.
Inspired by Karl Blossfeldt's and Irving Penn's nature studies, the talents are documented as they interact with the sculptural forms and flora, highlighting the key details of the collection.
The Resort 2023 collection palette ranges from black, ivory and buttermilk, to soft pink tones and peaks at a bold palm green, key lime and rose pink. Traditional masculine codes are reinterpreted through a feminine lens, softened by an interplay of sensual fabrics and artisanal embroidered pieces.
The simple, uncomplicated silhouettes echo the minimalism and androgyny of the 90s, playing with volume accented by rich and textured fabrics to create a softly tailored, nonchalant, relaxed feel.
“Developing the collection, we envisaged the Noon By Noor woman effortlessly transported from the flower gardens of Arabia,” said Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa.
“Enveloped in soft silks, voiles and tulle, she is draped in fabrics that caress her form, with sweeping skirts and pants paired with unstructured tailoring and coats, while dresses flow as gently as the desert breeze.”
Captured through the lens of Photographer Janneke Van Der Hagen, the designers worked closely for the second consecutive season with Art Director Sarah-Jayne Todd, Stylist Hanna Kelifa and Casting Director Gabrielle Lawrence to craft the season’s visual media starring model Paulina Pitsikalis.
The launch of the Resort 2023 collection coincides with Bahraini Women’s National Day, 1 December, “as a thank you to all the incredible women on our teams, our collaborators and our community who inspire us to keep dreaming bigger,” said Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa.
“We see the power in our female team and ensuring this balance remains of central importance as we grow.”
Founded in Bahrain in 2008 by Designers Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa –business partners and cousins, Noon By Noor is a womenswear brand. In 2013, Noon By Noor became the first GCC-based fashion brand to be invited to NYFW where it continued to show prior to its shift to LFW in 2021.
