Tajmeel Hosts Graduation Ceremony for 59 Students at Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition
The 9th Graduation Ceremony of Qatar International Beauty Academy (QIBA) saw 32 Qatari females graduating among 59 students this year in an event that showcased their talents and achievements
Qatar International Beauty Academy (Tajmeel), a project developed by Social Development Center (Nama) , celebrated the graduation of a new batch of 59 hair and beauty specialists certified with the highest international diplomas.
The graduation ceremony was held on Tuesday 29th October at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on the last day of the 16th edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition.
59 female students have graduated from Tajmeel’s hair and beauty programs, including 32 Qatari students, and have celebrated their achievements and received certificates in front of family members, friends and colleagues as well as a crowd of the exhibition’s visitors.
All graduates have qualified with internationally recognised certificates including UK based City and Guilds, ITEC or CIDESCO from Switzerland, and have earned either an international accredited award, a certificate or a diploma depending on the courses they have studied.
The graduation ceremony saw guest of Honor, Kholoud Al Humaidi, Opal salon owner and a renowned make-up and beauty educator, give an inspirational speech about the importance of the continuous training and development for staff in the beauty industry. Kholoud also contributed to handing certificates to the graduates. In addition, guest makeup artist, Ajiad Mubarak Al Rashed who is a Qatari beauty expert and a graduate of Tajmeel, also participated at the graduation ceremony.
On this exciting occasion, Mrs. Khulood Mahboub Al-Dosari, Director of Planning and Development at the Social Development Center-Nama said: “We are pleased to celebrate the graduation of the 9th cohort of Qatar International Beauty Academy students, which coincides with the 10th Anniversary of the Academy, which is the first of its kind in the beauty industry in Qatar. The Academy trains all beauty enthusiasts and provides also professional training, development and certification for those working makeup, spa treatments and hairdressing in the State of Qatar. The Academy has contributed significantly to the training and development of generations of beauty specialists to serve the community”.
Al-Dosari added that the Academy is moving forward in achieving its goal of promoting and developing the local beauty industry, supporting local talents and helping them to discover their abilities and providing them with professional qualifications. She also pointed out that one of the goals of the Academy is to advance the level of the beauty industry in the country and provide excellent and international standards for those working in this field. Al-Dosari explained that the Academy awards globally recognized certificates from international institutes such as CIDESCO and CIBTAC to qualify students to enter the labor market. She further indicated that the Center is proud to have been hosting the Qatar International Beauty Academy for the past ten years ago as part of Center’s vision to support entrepreneurial projects, especially in the field of beauty .
From her side Beverley Crowther, Principal of Tajmeel said: “I am pleased and proud to see these wonderful graduates who have demonstrated their unique talents and skills through the year, thriving to build a prosperous future for themselves whilst supporting the development of the community. Graduates are now qualified with the best international certificates and can start practicing their professions and leverage the skills and knowledge they have accumulated throughout their studies at the academy”.

Through this one of a kind partnership with Heya, Tajmeel has furthermore led a series of workshops throughout the exhibition on a variety of topics including a make-up demo on the effective use of eyeliner and a dedicated workshop on skincare at 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and beyond.
Held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, the 16th edition of Heya this year showcased the largest display of local designers to date with more than 250 brands from 11 countries participating, who have offered shoppers and visitors an assortment of unique collections, from high-street apparel, couture and luxury, to the latest modest fashion evening gowns, leather accessories as well as perfumery and make-up.
Tajmeel, Qatar’s first vocational training centre to offer internationally recognised hair and beauty therapy qualifications, aims to transfer knowledge, expertise and professionalism to the local community and established employees of the industry by providing them with quality education opportunities in spa, hair, beauty and its associated fields.
