Celebrating the Best of Traditional Pan Asian Cuisine with a Modern Twist this Ramadan and beyond

Shanghai Me, the renowned Pan Asian restaurant, which recently opened in Doha, is excited to announce the launch of two exquisite new menus, promising foodies and residents in Qatar a unique culinary experience. A special a la carte menu is available throughout the holy month of Ramadan, allowing guests who are dining in to curate their own Iftar spreads. A new Takeaway menu, available during Ramadan and beyond, caters to those looking to enjoy Shanghai Me signature dishes in the comfort of their own homes.

The curated Ramadan Menu invites diners to indulge in a wholesome Lobster & Enoki Mushroom Soup to start, designed to nurture the soul. Guests are then presented a selection of enticing appetisers, including Crispy Calamari, Spicy Popcorn Loubo Gao, Crispy Crab Maki and the Scallop Xiao Long Bao, a delicate steamed dumpling filled with tender scallops and rich broth. Mains include a succulent Wok Whole Lobster, drizzled in Shanghai-Me’s signature blend of herbs and spices, an indulgent Wok Fried Duck, adorned with truffle sauce and accompanied with mini baos as well as a sizzling Sumiyaki Wagyu Tomahawk. Ending the meal on a sweet note, diners may choose between a rich Pistachio Mont Blanc and traditional Umm Ali.

Framed by exotic Flora and Fauna, the restaurant's interior design personifies the Old World while celebrating the rise of the new. Elements of classic luxury interiors are accented by warm velvet, hand-painted wallpaper, and the gloss of wood finishes, juxtaposed by modern art. The luxurious lounge and exclusive private dining room pay tribute to the celebrations of the Golden Age, offering a refined yet relaxed ambiance, perfect for intimate dinners, celebratory gatherings, or business events. The Takeaway Menu features a harmonious array of traditional delicacies infused with a contemporary flair. Noteworthy signature dishes include the Silver Cod accompanied by a delicate Miso Sauce, Evgeny’s Wagyu Beef Sub, a unique twist on the classic Chinese sandwich featuring succulent Wagyu beef and a sweet and spicy sauce; and the Braised Beef Short Rib Shanghai Style, a tender short rib in a savory and aromatic sauce that combines bold flavors of soy sauce, ginger, and star anise.

Commenting on the launch of both menus, Chef Yukitaka Kitade said: “At Shanghai Me, we strive to take our guests on a culinary journey that is both familiar and unexpected. Our two new menus are a celebration of flavors and a reinvention of thousand-year-old Chinese traditions married with Japanese techniques, which is an unexpected pairing. We're excited to bring this unique concept to Doha”.

Located at the beach front in West Bay, the restaurant’s opening hours are 5:30pm to 2am, with the last order at 1:15am. Takeaway orders can be placed with the restaurant directly by contacting Reservations@shanghaime-doha.com or calling +974 4453 6250.

ETROPÌA - a journey across reality and imagination in search of our own individuality. The journey recently undertaken by Etro’s new creative director, Marco De Vincenzo, began with the origins of the Maison, bringing lightness and simplicity to an ever-present tradition. Heritage is approached with a new perspective in search of an eccentric and essential aesthetic.

Humoring himself as if he were a gardener with an old botany book, he lets flowers, birds and exotic fruits breathe life into the fabrics as if transplanted onto the catwalk, which is transformed into a psychedelic pattern to be stepped on by Aladdin style high clogs. There is the past of origins intertwined with the future of sustainability, with bags made from fabrics taken from Etro’s archives combined with ultra-modern recycled plastics, as well as the brand’s expertise in hand-dyed polychrome cashmere, in denim brocades, in degradé stripes on cotton shirts.

An eccentric 19th-century Sicilian aristocrat, having to go on pilgrimage on foot from Palermo to Santiago de Compostela, decided to break down the distance that separated him from that destination and recompose it into many small paths in his garden, equipped, however, as if he really had to make that journey. It was with this spirit that Marco De Vincenzo conceived this collection; a great journey from a standstill in which the imagination leaves the past aside and looks to the present in the construction of a wardrobe made up of dry shapes, of essential pieces with decisive proportions, micro or macro, of a decorativism mixed with the essential that has its roots in the most radiant Made in Italy
